For the past 8 years, Forsyth School has participated in the Green Schools Quest, a program offered by the US Green Building Council - Missouri Gateway Chapter. This program fosters sustainability projects in schools in the St. Louis metro area. This year, in 2020-21, the sixth grade class learned about the benefits of trees throughout the school year. Some of the benefits include:
* capture carbon to help with climate change
* provide habitat for animals
* prevent erosion
* shade nearby buildings to save energy
* add beauty and peace to surroundings
These are only a few of the many benefits. Trees are helpful to the environment and are worth saving!
